La mafia politique…
Dans la nuit du 26 au 27 février 1971, des colleurs d’affiches des équipes constituées pour les campagnes de Charles Ceccaldi-Reynaud et de Georges Dardel se retrouvent dans les rues de Puteaux. Les sbires de Ceccaldi-Reynaud tirent sur ceux de Dardel faisant un mort, Salah Kaced, un ouvrier de 31 ans, et sept blessés après une course poursuite et deux fusillades. Cet incident de campagne devient l’objet d’un ouvrage consacré à la violence dans la France des années 1970.
L’auteur y étudie la rivalité fratricide entre deux militants socialistes en lutte pour la conquête de l’ancienne cité ouvrière de Puteaux. Dardel est maire depuis 1948. Cet ancien socialiste révolutionnaire, membre des milieux pivertistes est devenu un hiérarque d’une SFIO déclinante. En 1969, il a un accident de voiture et est obligé d’abandonner son poste au profit de son adjoint Charles Ceccaldi. Deux ans après, il souhaite reconquérir la mairie et rompt avec son parti. C’est pendant cette campagne que les hommes de Ceccaldi – curieux mélange de mafieux corses et d’employés municipaux – tirent sur ceux de Dardel, concluant tragiquement plusieurs mois de bagarres politiques. La tragédie n’a pas empêché Ceccaldi de devenir maire avec une confortable majorité 6 % des voix. Dardel ne l’entend pas de cette oreille et multiplie les actions pour déstabiliser son concurrent. Deux comités se mettent en place. L’un animé par la gauche institutionnelle et l’autre par la mouvance léniniste (Gauche prolétarienne, Secours rouge, ligue communiste), qui souhaite mettre en place une justice populaire… L’objectif final est de montrer que Ceccaldi incarne le système mafieux en train de se constituer dans les Hauts-de-Seine. Le nouveau maire passant avec armes et bagages dans les réseaux de Charles Pasqua…
