Deux synthèses qui permettent d’éclairer le monde et son passé.
L’ouvrage d’Emmanuelle Saada est une monumentale synthèse qui embrasse la période allant du XVe siècle à aujourd’hui. En 7 chapitres thématiques, elle montre non seulement comment s’est opérée la colonisation, mais aussi comment les peuples colonisés d’abord l’ont parfois refusée, s’y sont adaptée puis l’ont rejetée. Elle rappelle que la colonisation a procédé d’un processus de découverte puis de barbarie, les « sauvages » n’étant pas les vaincus… Néanmoins, si certains ont voulu connaître le monde colonial, leur désir a été récupérer dans une volonté de soumettre, de dominer et d’exploiter. L’ouvrage rappelle ainsi que la colonisation loin d’être un projet d’émancipation a généré misère et asservissement.
La colonisation ou plutôt son héritage occupe une place importante dans le dictionnaire de Jean-Sylvestre de Mongrenier. Il s’agit d’abord y avant tout d’y voir des rapports de force de puissance à puissance. L’analyse géopolitique contemporaine analyse aussi les questions environnementales, les enjeux économiques et. Sociaux de la mondialisation. L’auteur propose une liste impressionnante de concepts permettant de se repérer dans l’histoire et la quasi-géologie des comités et conférences qui ont pensé les transformations contemporaines. Il souligne que si le bouleversement des grands équilibres a commencé entre 1979 et 1991, les soubassements sont bien antérieurs. Si les années 1990 ont soulevé un espoir de liberté, force est de constater que depuis les années 2010, c’est un vent contraire qui souffle sur le monde.
Le lecteur amusé peut également découvrir un sens original au mot d’anarchie formé par le politiste américain Robert Kaplan expliquant que l’anarchie est un monde déstructuré venu d’un grand bouleversement géopolitique…
